26 Years of Experience

Dave Stark has 26 years of experience in law enforcement, much of it right here in Miller County. His duties and responsibilities have included:

Supervisory / Administrative positions: (Corporal, Sergeant, Chief Deputy / Lieutenant, Critical Response Team Board Member)

  • Chief Investigator
  • Marijuana Eradication Officer
  • Police Marksman / Counter Sniper
  • Firearms Instructor
  • K-9 handler / Search & Rescue
  • Public Relations / Media Officer

In October 2016, Dave began working for the Linn Creek Missouri Police Department, focusing on investigations. From investigating the burglary of the Camden County Museum, to numerous other burglaries, drug trafficking cases, and domestic assaults, Dave has been successful due to knowledge, experience, and his don’t quit attitude.

From May of 2006 thru April 2016, Dave worked for the Missouri State Park Rangers, and provided law enforcement services at Lake of the Ozarks State Park for the last 8 years of that time. The Missouri State Park Rangers have been recognized nationally as one of the leading agencies providing law enforcement in a recreational setting. This is a statewide agency, providing professional law enforcement in the state parks, historic sites, and all properties under the control of the Department of Natural Resources.

During his time with the Rangers, Dave successfully investigated crimes including thefts, property damage and drug violations. One such investigation resulted in a lengthy sentence for the suspect, and the return of thousands of dollars of property, including a $7,000.00 wedding ring. And Dave finished his career with the Missouri State Park Rangers with the successful investigation of a Missing Person / Cold Case, providing closure to the family of the missing man.

Dave is a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Major Case Squad, and was the driving force that brought the Missouri State Park Rangers on board as members. The continual training and available networking provided by both organizations has helped keep Dave at the top of his game when investigating crimes.

Before joining the State Park Rangers, Dave worked for the Ozark County Sheriff Department, first as a Deputy; quickly promoting to Corporal; and finally attaining the position of Chief Deputy / Chief Investigator. While there, he headed up numerous investigations, including homicides, burglaries and drug violations. Meth labs and marijuana grow operations were a problem, just as they are in Miller County.

As Chief Deputy, Dave was responsible for the day to day operations of the Ozark County Sheriff Department whenever Sheriff Bartlett was away. While supervising Deputies and Jail Staff, Dave also gained valuable experience in budgets and obtaining grants.

Before going to Ozark County, Dave worked for two local law enforcement agencies; the Miller County Sheriff Department, (atta

ining the rank of Sergeant), and the Eldon Police Department. He also worked with the Moreau Fire District K-9 Search & Rescue.

During the recent construction of the new St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Dave worked as a Security Coordinator for Hudson Services. He supervised a crew of off-duty law enforcement officers as they provided security at the construction site.

Along with being a member of the Lake of the Ozarks Major Case Squad, Dave is also member the Missouri Peace Officers Association, and the Missouri State Investigators Association.
